Following completion of the St Mary’s Surgery extension last year we have now received the certificate for BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
The BREEAM certificate, is based on sustainability criteria for buildings and includes an assessment of health and wellbeing, energy, waste and water usage.
The ‘Very Good’ rating is considered particularly impressive considering parts of the original 1960’s building have been retained. The new build element was constructed with a highly efficient timber frame with a substantial array of solar panels installed on the flat roof.
The design of the building provides twenty five consulting rooms, over three storeys, wrapped around a central atrium bringing natural light down to reception and waiting areas at each level.
