Delighted to share that our proposal for a new replacement dwelling in the countryside was unanimously approved at planning committee yesterday.
This is a unique site – rich in natural beauty and full of potential – and it’s been a real privilege to design a home that responds so carefully to its setting. The new dwelling will replace a 1970s property with a highly sustainable, thoughtfully integrated home that’s future-proof, landscape-sensitive, and rooted in place.
Key aspects of the design include :
▪️ A centralised location within the site to sit more comfortably in the landscape
▪️ Concealed parking and integrated massing using existing levels
▪️ Outdoor spaces designed around the path of the sun
▪️ A green-roofed swimming pool and carefully considered views
▪️ Structural insulated panels and photovoltaic integration for low energy use
▪️ A lift connecting all levels to support long-term living
It’s always a pleasure to work with a client who values architecture that’s both beautiful and responsible, and I’m so pleased to see this approach supported by the committee.
Big thank you to everyone involved.
